Lorenzo Ghiberti

Lorenzo Ghiberti was a notable artist during the early Italian Renaissance period, celebrated primarily for his advancements in sculptural techniques. He was born in Florence in 1378, and is most famously known for his magnificent bronze doors, “The Gates of Paradise”, at the Baptistery of San Giovanni in Florence.
