She is the daughter of Bill De Blasio and she was taken into custody on Saturday night at a protest in Lower Manhattan after she was allegedly blocking traffic and refusing to comply with police demands on 12th Street and Broadway.

She was arrested during the protests following the death of George Floyd, on Monday, Mayor Bill de Blasio commented on his daughter’s arrest during a Manhattan protest and said that it was a “surprise” to him, but that he’s “proud” of her.

Later, Bill De Blasio said “I love my daughter deeply, I honor her.

I’m proud of her that she cares so much, she was willing to go out there and do something about it,” and added, “She was acting peacefully.” Then, the mayor said. “She believes everything she did was in the spirit of peaceful, respectful protest.”
